Snell now has two top-level technological proposals designed to facilitate the production and distribution of multiplatform content: the new Kahuna 360 switchers and the Sirius 800 routers.

Priest 360 de Snell It is, without a doubt, an advanced production platform for live broadcast that facilitates automation, networking and control tasks, thus giving operators more time to focus on the creative aspect of production.

New Source Safe technology allows any Kahuna 360 input to connect to third-party devices, integrating it into production operations. Together with the Galaxy Event List Galaxy, both technologies allow increasing flexibility by automating routine but critical tasks within the production and broadcast workflow. Eliminating the need to manually configure format conversion processes and reducing the time required to configure and trigger events increases the time that switcher operators can devote to various aspects of live artistic production.

Among other advantages, Kahuna 360 automatically detects an input signal and establishes the correct treatment without the need for intervention from the operator or engineering staff. With this capability, the system can detect the format of the signal source ensuring it is seamlessly included in the workflow with complete security.

An aspect worth highlighting about Kahuna 360 is its easy adaptation and update with respect to the installed systems, also highlighting its total scalability and multi-panel connectivity, without forgetting its low consumption.

With up to 6 Mix Effects, 7 keyers per M/E and 4 resize engines per M/E, this system housed in an 11 RU unit offers 120 inputs and 64 outputs (fully assignable).

En cuanto a la tecnología Format Fusion 3 (opcional) permite incluir fuentes multiformato en la producción y salida (incluyendo 1080i/1080p en niveles A&B), ahorrando así tiempo en la siempre molesta sincronización de entradas y salidas.

The system has an internal clipstore with 20 outputs, and can store up to 71,200 frames or 40 minutes of SD video.

It should be noted, on the other hand, that thanks to Make M/E technology, Snell's solution supports multiple control panels, being able to achieve up to 16 different productions from a simple mainframe. This means more production power for multiple cross-platform outputs sharing all existing resources in production. This option gives us the possibility of obtaining, for example, three different programs (local, national or international) with different keyers and different labels, customizing each signal.

In this way, we would be able to obtain multiple simultaneous outputs at 1080p, 1080i or SD at 4/3, with total customization of the signal, and all from the same table. Still, if we wanted to achieve an even higher level of customization, it is possible to network several Kahuna 360s sharing the same chassis and working with the same input material.

On the other hand, Kahuna 360 is a tremendously intuitive system thanks to a completely flexible and configurable panel.

The scalability of the concept allows an operator to move to a more advanced panel with complete familiarity, thus focusing on the creative aspects and forgetting the technical complexity.

Finally, highlight the possibilities that Kahuna 360 offers for stereoscopic production environments.

Along with the software, Snell offers numerous software solutions that complete the functionalities of Kahuna such as K-Watch 360 (facilitates the sharing of files between several Kahunas such as grfaimso or video clips in a simple way); K-Mirror (facilitates the use of projects in pre-production and broadcast) or K-Manager (a converter to import files such as jpgs, bmp, trga, avi or wav into Kahuna).

Routers for all needs

From the small Halo to the larger Sirius 800 and Cygnus, including Pyxis and Sirius 600, Snell has a wide range of routers.

The Sirius 800 series, for example, allows routing any combination of video (3G, HD, SD, ASI) and audio (AES, MADI, embedded) at up to 1152x1152 (video) and 36,864x38,864 (audio). Sirius is a fully configurable system according to needs: Sirius 850 (expandable up to 1152×1152 with two Sirius 850 frames, designed for large playout installations); Sirius 850 (in single frame, 575×1152, for medium installations); and Sirius 830 (up to 288×288 in a 15 RU chassis).

This solution has dual redundant internal controls, auto failover, Ethernet and serial control, hard/soft panels, redundant crosspoint architecture, Centra or SNMP monitoring and control and dual power supply.

Coming soon, the 800 series will feature autogain, audio delay, mono mix, frame and line sync, and format conversion with Format Fusion technology.
