IBC 2011 closed this year's edition with an attendance of 50,462 professionals, an increase of 4% compared to 2010.

Michael Crimp, CEO of the IBC, has been very satisfied with the results, stating that "while it is always satisfying to receive leading figures in the industry such as Hiroshi Yoshioka, deputy CEO of Sony Corporation; Joanna Shields, vice president and general manager of EMEA at Facebook and film director James Cameron, the true value lies in the interaction between each of the visitors who come here to investigate new technologies and new work practices, to share knowledge, and to sign agreements."

"Everyone knows that the industry is changing. Audiences are being approached from different directions, by immersive 3D experiences and by cross-platform content on tablets and smartphones, even while they are watching television. Media companies have to be agile to remain commercially viable, so they need to make smart use of technology," added Crimp.

According to the IBC organization, exhibitors, large and small, have been very satisfied with the number of visitors and the good contacts made. IBC estimates the amount of transactions signed during the fair to be around $20 million.
