It is the installation with the largest number of wireless beltpacks, a hundred, of any Riedel has carried out to date around the world. The configuration of the installation with all wireless beltpacks connected through PoE antennas allows professionals to move around all of Antena 3's facilities with total freedom.

Antena 3 has completely renewed its intercom system in a project carried out together with Crosspoint with latest technology equipment Riedel Communications.

This is the installation with the largest number of wireless beltpacks (100) of any Riedel has carried out to date worldwide. During the project, the design of the Acrobat family had to be readjusted to accommodate that number of devices.

Thanks to the involvement of Antena 3 and Crosspoint, Riedel Communications developed the CC-60 and CC-120 units, controllers that interconnect the central Artist intercom matrix (via MADI audio) with all the wireless beltpacks (up to 60 or 120 respectively) by means of PoE antennas.

These antennas work with VoIP technology, over DECT. They also include cell synchronization, channel coordination, imperceptible antenna change (roaming) and audio coding and IP transfer. This way each two-button beltpack uses a single port on the Artist system and operates just like a wired communication panel. The beltpacks are configured through the Director configuration software, which allows free assignment of any function to the keys including Call to Port and Call to Conference, as well as multiple functions per key. All audio and command processing is handled by the Artist system.

A state-of-the-art system

According to David Jiménez, Antena 3 engineer in charge of executing this project, “when we proposed the change we decided not only to renew but to put in place a state-of-the-art system in which we could integrate wireless communications and the integration of all types of ports at the panel level, 4 wires, and IP, all within the same system.”

"We wanted a system in which anyone who had a beltpack could move around the house as if it were another panel. We also wanted all the antennas to form the same network. We put the requests on the table and they agreed to develop it [Riedel], we bet on them and I can say that we have arrived at a very good product that satisfies our needs. We currently have 6 Riedel chests in production in which we have installed cards for 271 positions of panels with category 5, 168 4-wire ports, up to 104 IP connections for delegations or virtual panels, and 101 wireless ports with 60 antennas distributed throughout Antena 3,” added Jiménez.
