Broadcast Electronics launches 'social radio' app
Broadcast Electronics launches an application for 'social radio' that facilitates listener participation in real time through social media such as Twitter or Facebook, achieving great interactivity in the medium.
Broadcast Electronics Together with the interactive software company LocalMedia, it has developed CrowdControl, a crowdsourcing and social radio application that facilitates listener participation in real time through social media such as Twitter or Facebook.
Radio show hosts can also use this application to organize a song vote among listeners using iPhone or PC, interact with listeners from the studio through all social media or post status updates in real time.
“Top voted” songs can be played at a set time or as listeners vote. Voting data can be used to automatically update song rotation schedules in the station's automation system.
CrowdControl, thanks to the use of internal playlists, would allow, for example, continuous operation 24/7 according to the parameters that listeners express within a framework set by the station.
