The filming of 'White Elephant' ends in Argentina and Peru
The Spanish production company Morena Films, after successes such as 'Celda 211' by Daniel Monzón or 'Also the rain' by Icíar Bollain, faces this new project with the help of director Pablo Trapero.
Filming has finished white elephant, directed by Pablo Trapero, and which took place for 9 weeks in different locations in Argentina and Peru. Starring Ricardo Darín, the Belgian actor Jeremie Renier (Clo-Clo, L´Enfant, In Bruges) y una de las actrices habituales en la cinematografía de Trapero, Martina Gussman, el director ha firmado el guión de esta intensa historia de amor, drama, compromiso y justicia, con su colaboradores habituales Mitre&Mauregui&Fadel.
Pablo Trapero himself, in statements to the Efe Agency, assured that "when I presented the script to the team, the question was how we were going to face the challenge of filming in a village", however the Argentine director has been surprised by the reception of the people of the Village and is amazed because "the meeting of the worlds that fiction speaks of also happens now, in reality."
white elephant is a Morena Films production with Matanza Cine and Patagonik in Argentina and Full House in France.
The film has a budget of 3.5 million euros and has the participation of TVE, and will be distributed by Alta Classics. Post-production will take place in Spain.
