Harris puts regional news channel Khabar Bharti on air in record time in India
India's new all-news regional channel, Khabar Bharti, features a file-based workflow for production and broadcast based on Harris technology.
Khabar Bharti, a new 24-hour regional news channel in India, has gone on air in record time, basing its entire infrastructure on a workflow of files in both production and broadcast.
The channel, initially available in Rajasthan Pradesh, Madhya and Chhattisgarh, reaches more than 30 million homes (almost 50 percent of the market)
The installation, coordinated by local distributor Nixon Technologies, combines solutions from Harris both editorial and playout in a completely file-based workflow that accelerates time to air, and drastically reduces costs associated with acquisition, production, distribution and media management.
The new channel is based on the Harris NewsForce HD/SD news platform. Integration with Harris MOS Playlist Manager offers precise play-to-air control, while Nexio AMP servers get pieces on the air quickly and efficiently. Additionally, Nexio offers low-resolution material that allows journalists and editors to edit “low” without the need for a complex storage and management solution.
Harris ADC automation brings everything together in a file-based environment, with management of complex operations within the master control. Its ingestion capabilities include automated and manual processes for content acquisition and preparation, offering operators maximum ease and flexibility in use.
The installation also incorporates Harris Platinum to centralize the distribution of signals under the control of ADC automation, while Harris HView multiviewers centralize their monitoring in control and master control. To enrich the channel's brand image, Khabar Bhart has relied on Inscriber G5 XT, while for processing, distribution, conversion and testing and media, the channel has installed various Videotek solutions.
