This solution allows in high definition and digital cinematography environments to be configured to switch SMPTE 372M dual-link HD-SDI in configurations up to 8x8.

Pesa has expanded its line of professional Pesa PRO matrices with the new PRO-3GSDI-1616 Routing Switcher. With support for the most popular SMPTE and ITU standards, as well as embedded audio and other ancillary data required for HD-SDI and DVB/ASI sources, this new solution allows high definition and digital cinematography environments to configure it to switch SMPTE 372M dual-link HD-SDI in configurations up to 8 × 8.

PRO-3GSDI-1616 supports working with rates of up to 50Mbps to 3Gbps and video transport of up to 1080p/60, with all inputs auto-equalized. With outputs formatted under the SMPTE standard, each signal adapts to the appropriate transport flow (auto-sense and re-clocked function) even reaching 100 meters in 1080p/60. In non-standard formats it is possible to establish a re-clocking circuit in bypass mode. Two independent referenced inputs allow easy genlock selection from black burst or a tri-level synchronous source.

At NAB 2012, Pesa will show two models: the PRO-3GSDI-1616-C and the PRO-3GSDI-1616-PB, which include control keypads and support multiple remote control panels through an Ethernet interface.

PRO-3GSDI-1616 (1 RU) is designed for front loading, hot swapping and includes space for an optional redundant power supply and controller module. It is also compatible with Pesa's Cattrax graphical control interface. Cattrax is an intuitive graphical user interface for systems control that supports complete configuration, diagnostics and monitoring of the PRO-3GSDI-1616, as well as the entire line of Pesa arrays. The software is installed on a PC running Windows and communicates through an Ethernet port found on each matrix.

Designed for small and medium-sized video switching environments, the Pesa PRO line is ideal for SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI signals, digital cinema, telemedicine, presentations, military command centers, and advanced visualization and simulation environments.
