DirecTv will invest 32 million dollars in Argentina to build a transmission center and promote the production of decoders.
As Panorama Audiovisual already announced on January 11 (see news), the largest pay satellite television operator in the world, DirecTV, has finally confirmed that it will invest 32 million dollars in Argentina to build a transmission center and promote the production of decoders.
Argentine President Cristina Fernández, accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Débora Giorgi, received this week at the Government House representatives of DirecTv who have confirmed this operation.
22 million dollars will be allocated to the new transmission center, while the remaining 10 million will be used to produce and export one million 750 thousand decoders from Tierra del Fuego in 2012.
This latest investment will allow the launch of two new projects in the extreme south of Argentina, as well as increasing the production of decoders by 650 thousand units.
With 31 million customers in the United States and Latin America, DirecTV has been present since 1998 in Argentina, where it has about 1.5 million subscribers, a note from the Casa Rosada stated.
