Canon, en NAB 2012: “Imagine what’s next”…

Pero, como ha afirmado en Las Vegas Jon Faver, al frente de la división de cinematografía profesional de Canon, “todo lo que estamos viendo estas semanas, con propuestas de cámaras compactas, ligeras y versátiles… no es más que el principio de lo que está por venir”.

Bajo el prometedor eslógan “Imagine what’s next”, Canon ha reunido este domingo en Las Vegas a un nutrido grupo de profesional de la fotografía y la cinematografía para compartir con ellos el lanzamiento de sus dos nuevas cámaras 4K.

A este encuentro celebrado en el auditorio del hotel Palms han acudido prestigiosos directores de fotografía de que han mostrado trabajos tan interesantes como el corto Man& Beast, dirigido por Dante Ariola con Jeff Cronenweth en la fotografía, o The ticket dirigida por Pochan con foto de Shane Hurlbut. En el primer caso de trata de una producción con una cuidada fotografía rodada con la nueva C500, mientras que The ticket se ha producido con la 1DC.

C500

La nueva cámara de cine digital C500 es capaz de grabar vídeo con una resolución 4K (4.096 x 2.160 píxeles). EOS 1-D C

Canon is also showing at NAB the new EOS-1D C, a digital reflex camera (DSLR) aimed specifically at the professional film, television and high-resolution production sectors. The EOS-1D C is a compact and lightweight camera that allows you to record spectacular quality video, offering excellent results in low light and with a dynamic range like that of cinema films. In addition to its compact size and lightweight, it is capable of recording video at 4K resolution (4,096 x 2,160) with 4:2:2 color sampling, offering greater creative freedom to video professionals.

The EOS-1D C, the first SLR camera in this category, is a unique, highly portable device optimized for high-quality video recording. Additionally, it offers advanced creative flexibility, with a range of different resolutions and different recording speeds (fps). 4K resolution video is recorded using 8-bit Motion JPEG compression at 24p, while Full HD (1920 x 1080) video recording can be performed at speeds up to 1080/60p. The camera uses CF cards for in-camera recording, at all resolutions, including 4K, offering improved mobility. Video can also be exported to external recorders, via an integrated HDMI terminal, with an uncompressed 4:2:2 YCbCr signal.

EF Cine Lenses

Canon ha anunciado el desarrollo de cuatro nuevos objetivos zoom para cine digital, con los que la compañía amplía su gama de objetivos EF Cine para proporcionar a los profesionales del vídeo más opciones creativas. Professional monitors

As if the launch of its new 4K cameras were not enough, Canon has surprised with the announcement of the launch of two professional monitors designed for film and post-production. They will offer a native 4K resolution in 30 inches (initially).

Still presented in prototype at the Las Vegas event, Canon plans to market them at the end of the year.
