Cintel will demonstrate the new 6K version of the DiTTo scanner at NAB 2012
The DiTTo scanner's new 6K image sensor provides the highest quality oversampled 4K data files.
Cintel International is set to launch a new image sensor for the DiTTo Evolution cine scanner at NAB 2012, providing upsampled 4K data files, plus new timeline interface options and an extended vertical gamut option for the imageMill2 real-time data processing engine.
The DiTTo Evolution film scanner scans 16mm and 35mm film at 2K speeds of up to 11 frames per second. The new 6K image sensor provides the highest quality oversampled 4K data files that the post-production and archival industries are demanding.
The DiTTo Evolution is the first cine scanner that can instantly switch from pin register to non-pin register and is also the first cine scanner to include integrated grain management and image stabilization tools. It is the ideal scanner for all applications and booking types, ranging from OCN ingest for digital intermediates, to dense prints for restoration projects.
Cintel's proposal offers a scalable modular solution for film scanning. Built on proven DiTTo elements, it also includes unmatched image performance, an easy-to-use interface and the famous D/SCO option. The DiTTo Evolution also provides a fast shuttle capability, a non-pin registration mode for file scanning, imageMill2 processing tools, and a 3.3D density range.
ImageMill2 represents the world's fastest image restoration tool, processing 2K and HD DPX files at speeds exceeding real time. The ORIGIN application can fix problems related to dust, scratches or other image defects faster than any other system and can work simultaneously with GRACE, the cine noise and grain management tool, and STEADY, the real-time image stabilization application. Also being introduced at NAB 2012 is a timeline interface called FLOW and an extended interface called COLOURFLOW, which adds color correction and zoom/pan/rotate scanning effects. In addition to all this, Cintel will also introduce a new extended vertical range stabilization tool called 'SUPER-Y'
