Fast Forward Video now has SideKick HD on the market, a small broadcast video recorder/digitizer that promises to streamline the workflow of recording and editing digital material.

Equipped with HDMI and HD-SDI inputs, its small size and light weight allows it to be mounted on the camera itself, displaying the recording status on its 4.3″ LCD.

This equipment allows direct capture from the camera at a bitrate of up to 220 Mbit/s with 10-bit precision and 4:2:2 sampling, being able to record directly in the most widespread formats of the main non-linear editing programs such as Apple ProRes 422 or DNxHD. In this way, we can start directly editing the material once stored on the SideKick HD without wasting time on transcoding and media dumping.

Its jog control and integrated speaker also greatly facilitate the selection and recovery of material.
