The Television Academy announces the finalists for the Iris Awards
The nominees in the 20 categories have been recognized among more than two hundred candidates presented by television networks, production companies and academics.
The Academy of Television Sciences and Arts has announced the results of the academic vote to choose the finalists for the Iris Awards, which the institution grants annually. The president of the Academy, Manuel Campo Vidal, participated in the press conference; its vice president, Esperanza Martín and the members of the Board of Directors, Valentín Carrera and Irene Domínguez, who read the notary's minutes with the results of the vote.
The nominees in the 20 categories have been recognized among more than two hundred candidates presented by television networks, production companies and academics.
For his part, Valentín Carrera, the director of the Ceremony, has announced that the Iris Awards will be held next July 4 in the auditorium of the Madrid Amusement Park. In addition, the voting of the Academy Council, to choose the best regional programs and the 2011 Lifetime Award, will take place on June 12.
The Iris Academy Awards recognize professionals and programs broadcast on television during 2011. Nominations can be submitted to the same television stations, production companies, academics and other professionals, individually. All programs and professionals presented are voted on by the more than 1,000 members of the Academy, firstly to choose the finalists and secondly, to choose the winner in each of the categories from the shortlist of finalists. The vote is secret and takes place before a notary.
