Grass Valley names Graham Sharp as new vice president of corporate development

Sharp was executive vice president and general manager of Avid's video division, and held various executive positions at other companies including Post Impressions, Discreet Logic, and Dynatech Corporation.

Grass Valley announced this Thursday the appointment of Graham Sharp as the new senior vice president of corporate development. Sharp will be responsible for overall corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, and strategic projects. He will report directly to Alain Andreoli, President and CEO of Grass Valley.

With more than 25 years of executive management experience in the media industry, Sharp was most recently a director at Media Asset Capital and interim president and CEO of Xtranormal, an online service where users can watch animated movies simply by typing text and dragging icons.

Previously he was executive vice president and general manager of Avid's video division, and held various executive positions at other companies such as Post Impressions, Discreet Logic, and Dynatech Corporation.

His career has come full circle, as he began working in the media and broadcast industry with Tektronix/Grass Valley in the 1980s.

Sharp's first priority will be to continue developing a strong growth strategy, including evaluating potential acquisition targets.
