EVS and Vizrt are jointly developing a new plug-in that allows Viz Engine users to play clips directly from EVS systems.

EVS is recognized for its success in both the production of live and studio sports content. It is one of the first options to reproduce material recorded from several cameras. But gaining access to this type of material stored in EVS systems presents, in some cases, certain difficulties. The EVS plug-in for Viz Engine gives customers of Vizrt easy access to this material.

With this proposal, each clip is defined by an entry and exit point on the entire ingested video. With the plug-in for Viz Engine it is possible to configure which clips should be loaded, receiving the time-codes of the point for ingest and playback. When a clip is selected for playback, playback can be controlled from the EVS server, and the signal can be input to the Viz Engine as a live video. On the other hand, it is possible to jump to a specific time-code point within the clip.

Coinciding with the launch of the Viz Engine 3.6 version, which we will see at IBC 2012, Vizrt will give more details about this new plug-in.
