The new PMW-200 will offer superior image performance, with three 1/2-inch sensors, HD422 workflow and unlimited resources for any type of production.

Sony will launch the new PMW-200 camcorder, equipped with three 1/2-inch Exmor CMOS sensors. This new XDCAM camera has a wide-angle lens and 1/2-inch sensor, achieving exceptional response in low light conditions.

Unlike other 1/3-inch cameras, the PMW-200's Exmor sensor, being larger, is capable of offering excellent image quality and Full-HD resolution with a greater viewing angle and sensitivity, helping to capture more details in low light.

On the other hand, the PMW-200 offers a variety of recording formats, including MXF 50Mbps/35Mbps, MP4 35Mbps/25Mbps and DVCAM, compatible with a very wide range of other equipment and workflows.

The PMW-200 will be the successor to the popular PMW-EX1, although with respect to this camcorder from the Sony XDCAM family it will incorporate significant improvements such as MPEG HD422 recording for greater image performance, thus maintaining ease of use, although with the same batteries and accessories as the PMW-EX1R.

The PMW-200 features a 14x zoom lens, offering complete manual operation and full creative functionality. The supplied lens is equipped with three independent rings for zoom, focus and iris, in addition to greater configuration precision through position indications on the LCD screen, offering the user a high level of comfort for operational control.

The new Sony camera will also have a 15-second cache recording and a remote control via WiFi.
