Vector 3 will show at IBC how to implement an intelligent and integrated IT-based workflow
With more than a quarter of a century of experience, Vector 3 will demonstrate at IBC 2012 how its solutions allow the implementation of an integrated and intelligent workflow based on IT technologies for playout, master control and multichannel channel branding in facilities of any size.
Vector 3, one of the main global references in IT-based broadcast systems, will attend IBC once again with the guarantee of an extensive portfolio of automation, video server, graphics and effects installations in multichannel playout, channel branding, advertising broadcasting, local disconnections and disaster recovery environments.
With more than a quarter of a century of experience in this field, Vector 3 pioneered the adoption of IT technologies, PC-based automation, format-agnostic video servers and multi-channel distribution based on standard IT technologies.
At IBC 2012 we will be able to see Vector MultiPlay in action, a complete solution for master control, automation and multichannel playout.
Vector MultiPlay is an advanced IT-based Vector 3 solution for multichannel and large-scale broadcasting. MultiPlay combines the flexibility and benefits of IT technology with the reliability that engineers demand for on-air broadcast operations, and channel-by-channel scalability in operations of any size.
For IBC 2012, MultiPlay's flexible architecture is augmented by two new modules that provide file-based workflow tools and remote access to all master control status information.
MultiPlay MediaManager automates file copy and transfer operations to ensure the integrity and preparation of all media files required for the playlist.
Running copies and transfers based on playlist information, MediaManager also performs testing to avoid errors and ensure that video, audio, subtitles and other files are in place. With the process automation offered by MediaManager, broadcasters can achieve greater streamlining and efficiency of the workflow from broadcast and backup, with the certainty that all content will be ready for transmission.
MultiPlay Web Server provides real-time information on all file-based and playout workflow operations, allowing authorized personnel on or off the station to instantly view the status of all activities. This monitoring tool can be followed from smartphones, notebooks or PCs remotely or in person via WiFi.
A fully modular solution
Among the modules that Vector MultiPlay offers, the following stand out:
- MultiPlay MCR: 24/7 channel automation with error-free operation
- MultiPlay VServer: IT-based video server with total reliability
- MultiPlay Ingest – multi-channel ingest with extensive automation
- MultiPlay News: automated studio control for live broadcast
Additionally, other modules can be incorporated for the creation of templates, playlist editing, distributed editing for journalists and other workflow improvement functions.
At the Amsterdam fair, Vector 3 will demonstrate Multiplay in a multi-channel master control operation with redundancy and error-proof automatic channel switching.
VectorBox
For smaller broadcasters or installations that require less working power, the Vector 3 proposal is VectorBox. This all-in-one server and automation solution allows simultaneous ingest and playout, as well as the creation of graphics for channel branding, support for a wide range of signal routing options, playback of files in any universal format, and all from a simple interface in a simple chassis and with signals in both SD and HD.
