Canal Extremadura installs a Sirius 620 matrix and several control panels in its production center in Mérida, along with two MV Series multi-screen displays and a 2 M/E multi-format mixer, Kahuna, all interconnected and controlled with an Aurora system.

Snell announced this Monday that the autonomous Canal Extremadura has installed a Sirius 620 matrix and several control panels in its production center in Mérida, along with two MV Series multi-screen displays and a 2 M/E multi-format mixer, Kahuna, all interconnected and controlled with an Aurora system.

The flexibility of Snell's integrated systems allows Canal Extremadura to optimize the management of different video sources throughout the control room and studio.

Francisco Reyes Torremocha, technical director of Canal Extremadura, highlighted that "Snell systems give us a high level of control while reducing the complexity of signal routing and identification in the control room and studio. Snell's Sirius, MV series, Kahuna, and Aurora systems offer valuable flexibility and the solid performance we need for production. Together, routing, control and switching are rationalized to improve the speed and precision with which our staff can manage all video sources”,

Thanks to the Aurora controller, the central control multi-display extracts the tally with the source name directly from the Aurora system itself. This means that the actual tally of the source can always be seen on the screen even if these are changed in the Sirius matrix. The multiviewer installed in the Canal Extremadura studio is, in turn, connected to the Kahuna console, so the labels in the tally are updated immediately if the source in the Kahuna is changed.

This integrated solution from Snell provides staff with the ability to maintain a mix of names in the multi-display tally under external control, while updating fixed tallies via a keypad connected directly to the multi-display system. As a result, operators can quickly update control signal names, identifying sources with the name most familiar to them.
