QCBox: PlayBox introduces integrated quality control in broadcast environments at NAB
PlayBox Technology, the renowned 'TV Channel in a Box' manufacturer with more than 9,500 installations worldwide, will launch QCBox at NAB 2011. This solution provides advanced automated quality control, allowing a precise evaluation of the technical quality of the material to be broadcast, guaranteeing a successful playout through an AirBox playback server.
Before the file goes to play, the AirBox server reads the quality control metadata, configuring itself to skip the file, display a warning before playing it, or play the file based on quality results determined by the user. Additionally, audio data from QCBox can be used for volume control.
Krasimir Dachev, technology director at PlayBox, highlighted that "QCBox reflects the trust that our clients have in us to, together with them, build the playback systems they want. They demanded quality control that was included within their broadcast, and here it is, fully integrated into the systems, without taking up space and functioning without human intervention."
PlayBox users around the world cover a wide range of content broadcasting activities on TV, Internet, DVB (IP/ASI), interactive TV, music channels, movie channels, remote and disaster recovery channels, as well as satellite, local, regional, national and international broadcasters.
