MKE 600: a shotgun microphone designed especially for videojournalists

The new MKE 600 shotgun microphone from Sennheiser, provides videojournalists with a microphone that can overcome even the most complex video sound challenges.

Its high level of directivity ensures sound reception in the direction of the camera, effectively avoiding unwanted background noise. The switchable high-pass filter ensures that wind and handling noise is kept to a minimum.

Thanks to it, users can count on a more lively and clear sound, a good bass response and a pleasant voice reproduction with a high level of intelligibility.

Kai Lange, Product Manager for wired microphones at Sennheiser, has highlighted that "reporting and journalistic production today have an increasingly greater presence, where information needs to be transmitted urgently, so the technology used has to be as simple as possible. In the development of the MKE 600 we have paid particular attention to achieving a high level of directivity and a balanced sound.”

This mic includes a mount with built-in hot-shoe adapter to allow the robust MKE 600 to be mounted on a camcorder without problems. The special design of the stand prevents the transmission of handling noise to the microphone. Of course, like any other shotgun microphone, the MKE 600 can also be used on a boom.

Independent of phantom power
