The novelty is one of the most valued measurements by engineers working in the world of television radio frequency, the measurement of echoes in Digital Terrestrial Television networks (COFDM), also known as Profile Delay.

In SFN networks, signals from different transmitters can reach a receiver displaced in time. Obstacles such as large buildings and mountains can also produce the same effect. Any signal from another transmitter that arrives outside the guard interval cannot be corrected by the ISDBT system and the receiver will interpret it as interference. The main effect is the reduction of the MER.

The spectrum analyzer cannot see this distortion because it occurs at the same frequency as the main signal, therefore only the echo function of the TVExplorer ISDBT tells us the signal delay time and the distance at which the interfering transmitter is located. As it is a dynamic Echo function, the antenna can be reoriented to reduce the signal that prevents reception.

The ISDBT TVExplorer with the Echo function allows technicians to identify the cause of the problem. It allows knowing the distance and direction of origin of the interfering signal and taking the measures considered appropriate to correct its effect.
