LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt now allows you to edit six uncompressed 4K streams at the same time
With read speeds of up to 635 MB/s, LaCie's new portable Thunderbolt solution can transfer a 50 GB project in less than two minutes.
LaCie has announced that the LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt Series, designed by Neil Poulton, now features SATA III SSDs (6Gb/s interface). With read speeds of up to 635 MB/s, LaCie Little Big Disk is the fastest portable Thunderbolt solution on the market. You can transfer a 50GB project in less than two minutes or edit six uncompressed 4K streams at the same time. Aimed at content creators and professional users, LaCie Little Big Disk delivers the speeds of rack-mounted Fiber Channel storage devices, but in a portable solution.
Erwan Girard, director of LaCie's professional business unit, highlighted that "we saw the opportunity to make the LaCie Little Big Disk even faster and we took advantage of it. The new LaCie Little Big Disk can perform tasks that used to take hours in minutes. This allows our customers to save time and therefore money."
Weighing just over 600 grams, the LaCie Little Big Disk is a powerful portable device. With it, when away from the studio, video editors can drastically reduce the time required to publish a project. Simply download recorded images directly from a compatible camera to LaCie Little Big Disk to start the editing process on-site.
The product incorporates two 2.5" 6 Gb/s SATA III SSDs. A RAID array can be configured using Mac OS Disk Utility for greater performance (RAID 0) or greater security (RAID 1). Allows daisy-chaining of up to six compatible devices, such as displays and other peripherals.
