A new unified newsroom, two broadcast studios, central control, and production studios and booths. The studios have state-of-the-art digital equipment and the necessary technology to offer Radio Nacional programs through TVE and RTVE.ES.

RNE has officially inaugurated the remodeling of its Prado del Rey facilities, where all the programs of Radio Nacional, the general radio station of the public channel, are carried out. The presentation took place this Thursday, October 18, in a special program with the participation of the director of RNE, Manuel Ventero, and the voices of some of the main programs.

The same year in which it celebrates its 75th anniversary, RNE has inaugurated its new facilities in the Casa de la Radio, which include a new unified newsroom, studios and central control. The remodeling has been carried out with an avant-garde design and has involved the installation of the most modern radio technology and television equipment that turns RNE into a radio that can be heard and seen.

The public presentation was carried out by the channel's director, Manuel Ventero, who highlighted that at RNE "we are turning 75 years old and we are renewing ourselves, with the intention of combining experience and progress." Likewise, he stated that public radio works “with the desire to bring together loyal and new listeners, who will be able to listen to us and also see us doing radio every day.”

Technology and design

The new studios have state-of-the-art digital equipment, with the most modern radio media. All of this adapted to television technology, which makes it possible to receive programs through TVE and the RTVE.ES website. To do this, the main broadcast studio (101) has three robotic cameras, lighting systems and production control, connected to Torrespaña. It thus becomes a small television set.

In this way it will not be necessary to move television equipment to offer National Radio content on TVE. Likewise, the RNE website in RTVE.ES opens a window for the Internet user to hear and see the Radio Nacional programs.

Two similar studios are in charge of the broadcast: 101 or the main studio, and 102, a support studio and perfectly prepared to handle the broadcast if necessary.

The 101 has an acoustic set in the lobby for performances, capable of also accommodating a small auditorium of listeners. A cabin has also been added to provide sound for the acoustics. These two main studios also have two production rooms, in permanent contact with the studios and sound controls.

The newsroom is another of the great novelties, since it unifies all the Radio Nacional programs in an open and modern space. In addition to the editors' jobs, it includes four booths and two more production studios equipped for broadcasting.

And of course, the central control, the heart of RNE broadcasting, equipped with the most modern technology and digital production systems.

All of this, with an avant-garde design, based on open spaces so that the newsroom, central control and studios (and in turn, the call rooms and sound controls) are visually connected.
