Panasonic presents the new Micro Four Thirds AG-AF101A camcorder with Full HD progressive recording and 10-bit 4:2:2 SDI output.

The new camcorder arrives Panasonic AG-AF101A high definition with Micro Four Thirds system. As with the AG-AF101, the AG-AF101A can also use a wide range of lenses, including Micro Four Thirds mount DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) lenses and cine lenses via adapter.

The AG-AF101A camcorder also features two XLR audio inputs and more features to meet all professional needs.

In addition to the high-quality professional PH mode (with an average of approximately 21Mbps and a maximum of 24Mbps), the AG-AF101A camcorder complies with version 2.0 of the AVCHD (AVCHD Progressive) recording standard. The new PS mode (approx. 25 Mbps average, 28 Mbps maximum) allows you to record, play back and output (via HDMI only) Full-HD progressive images (1080/50p, 1080/59.94p). Likewise, PS/PH modes allow the recording of 2 channels of uncompressed audio, in 16-bit LPCM format.

The AG-AF101A camcorder also offers 10-bit, 4:2:2 quality HD signal output via HD-SDI, compatible with various high-quality external recorders. For example, a P2 recorder compatible with 10-bit SDI output can be used. The P2 recorder automatically synchronizes with the start and stop of recording made on the AG-AF101A camera.

The AG-AF101A camcorder is equipped with a new focus assist (expand) function that allows you to enlarge the center of the displayed image, as well as a new framing mark of 2.39:1 (cinemascope size).
