Panasonic AG-AF100, the micro four thirds sensor reaches the professional market
The famous micro four-thirds system developed by Panasonic and Olympus makes the leap from cameras to professional camcorders with the launch at NAB of the new AG-AF100. Its micro four-thirds sensor, small but very bright, will be capable of capturing in 1080/60i, 50i, 30p, 25p and 24p in AVCHD, and is presented as an alternative to enthusiasts of 'testing' with DSLRs.
Panasonic is presenting at NAB 2010 the new AG-AF100, a lightweight camera with an unusual design that promises to respond to all those who in the last year have been experimenting with DSLR cameras for much more than just shooting photos. Its micro four thirds (MFT) sensor, small but very bright, will be capable of capturing native 1080/60i, 50i, 30p, 25p and 24p in AVCHD in maximum quality PH mode (maximum 24Mbps). Both modes in AVCHD at 24Mbps, compatible with future high-capacity SDXC and SDHC cards.
It should be noted that in order not to have storage problems until the SDXC arrive, it includes two slots for SD cards. In PH mode you can record up to 12 hours on two 64GB SDXC cards.
Interchangeable mounts
On the other hand, also note that curiously this camcorder will be compatible with interchangeable mount lenses in the style of the Lumix GH1, another very popular micro four-thirds camera on the market.
Intended for independent producers and educational environments, this camcorder uses the advanced AVC/H.264 Hi Profile AVCHD codec compatible with a wide range of editing tools.
La AF1000 contará con salida HD-SDI, HDMI, grabación de código de tiempos, micro estéreo y USB 2.0. Cuenta además con dos entradas XLR con alimentación Phantom a 48 V, grabación de audio digital a 48 KHz / 16 bit de doble canal y soportará LPCM/Dolby AC3.
Panasonic espera disponer de esta cámara en el mercado a finales de este mismo año.
