Assimilate announces improvement in digital workflows
Scratch and Scratch Lab v7 now include ACES, with support for Sony F55, Canon C500 and Blackmagic Cinema Camera.
Assimilate It is already on the market with its new generation of Scratch and Scratch Lab products. Scratch v7 presents a new set of advanced 3D composition tools that integrate color grading, data management and finishing systems to enable faster sessions for digital intermediation.
The director of photography, Julio Macat, has assured that "Scratch v7 saves me a lot of time. I have experienced much faster work in digital intermediation sessions than what I had experienced before. In my last project, I was able to carry out a total color correction, replacement of objects, adjustments to the women's faces and even some visual effects in record time and without any delay, something that usually interrupts the creative process."
Scratch v7 is one of the first toolsets in the industry to present an interface for users in both dailies production and creative digital intermediation.
This solution offers a synergy between production and post-production that allows directors and producers of films, spots and TV series... to improve the creative part while significantly improving productivity.
Scratch 7 features native support for the following cameras: Phantom Miro; Canon C500 and C300; Black Magic Cinema Camera; ARRI Debayer; Sony F55 and F65, and RED 5K. Additionally, Scratch v7 includes full support for the entire complete specification, including file formats.
Scratch Lab v7 addresses the challenges of managing media and metadata from any number of different cameras on a single timeline. It also syncs audio faster (whether you have accurate timecode or not), performs color correction, and creates new visuals, all in real time, providing simultaneous rendering for multiple delivery formats.
"The proliferation of digital camera formats is rapidly changing the world of dailies and so-called Advandec Dailies are taking over the industry," says colorist Duck Grossberg. "We are now required to manage a complete workflow that includes multiple cameras, audio synchronization and color correction clips, all on location. I love Scratch Lab because it's the only tool that allows you to organize your media and represent everything visually on a single timeline. It is incredible how fast and precise it is possible to work this way,” he added.
