Thanks to this agreement, both channels will enrich their editorial coverage. The two newsrooms will exchange editorial content, production and services and will have the benefit of experts from both continents.

Euronews reinforces its global strategy by signing a cooperation alliance with Band, which belongs to the first Brazilian media group, Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação, owner of numerous entities, including the television networks Rádio e Televisão Bandeirantes, Bandnews TV, Band International, TV Minuto and the radio Bandnews FM.

This alliance allows Euronews to open a new window towards the largest country in Latin America, with a population of 190 million inhabitants.

It will begin with an exchange of content between Euronews and Bandnews, Grupo Bandeirantes' continuous information channel. The two newsrooms will exchange editorial content, production and services and will have the benefit of experts from both continents. Beyond television, this cooperation also encompasses all the platforms of both entities.

Band will provide Euronews with newsletters and videos on current events in Brazil. Band will also contribute its content in case of last minute information in Brazil. This content will be broadcast on all Euronews platforms (television, internet, mobile…)

In return, Euronews will share some of its latest bulletins and magazines with Band. Euronews programs on VOD will also be available for Brazil's leading news channel. Another feature of this cooperation is the broadcasting of the recently launched Euronews Radio – English edition – on Band radio “Band News FM”.

Michael Peters, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Euronews, has acknowledged that "it is a great pleasure to announce this very important alliance with Band. This alliance will increase both the audience and the fame of Euronews in Brazil. It is a step forward in the development of Euronews in Latin America. We are also very happy to exchange editorial content and thus provide an international audience with the best coverage of Brazilian news."

For his part, Humberto Candil, executive director of Bandnews TV, emphasizes that this operating agreement with Euronews will be beneficial first of all for the Brazilian public, as it presents a new perspective on information in Europe: "without a doubt, we will further improve the quality of our information services. We have similar alliances in Japan and the Middle East. Experience has shown us that such agreements are beneficial for everyone."
