Adobe Creative Cloud update brings new tools to Photoshop

Adobe introduces a new version for workgroups, called Creative Cloud for Teams, that makes it easier for creative professionals to collaborate with their colleagues

Adobe has delivered the biggest update to its Creative Cloud product since its announcement earlier this year. During the CreateNow online event, the company announced that Creative Cloud subscribers now have access to more than a dozen new features exclusive to Adobe Photoshop. Adobe also reported impressive growth in Creative Cloud customers, with more than 1 million free and paid subscribers, including the approximately 326,000 individual paid subscribers who have joined Creative Cloud as of November 2012.

Adobe has introduced a new version for workgroups, called Creative Cloud for teams, which makes it easier for creative professionals to collaborate with their colleagues; has introduced new Adobe Muse capabilities for mobile website design; launched Creative Cloud Connection for desktop syncing and sharing for collaboration; has presented as a premiere Creative Cloud Training, a video library of high-quality training videos made by the most important training partners; and has demonstrated the broad reach of Digital Publishing technology, used by leading publishers to create interactive content for iPad.

New Photoshop CS6 capabilities now available to Creative Cloud subscribers include:

• Out-of-the-box support for Apple MacBook Pro HiDPI (Retina) displays. This feature is also made available to perpetual license customers as a free upgrade
• Smart Object support for Blur Gallery and Liquify
• The ability to quickly export CSS code for text and objects, and import color swatches to easily design amazing websites
• New time-saving workflows including refinement of the Crop tool
• 3D enhancements, including improved live previews (OpenGL) of shadow effects and additional control over lighting using a 32-bit color eyedropper to create glow effects
• Conditional actions that automatically select the appropriate action based on user-defined rules, providing users with increased image processing speed.

Also new to Creative Cloud is an update to Adobe Muse, a desktop application that allows designers to create professional HTML websites without having to write a single line of code. Adobe Muse now includes the ability to create a single website design that works for desktop, smartphones, and tablets. Now designers can customize each experience whether the website is viewed on a large screen on a desktop, or viewed on a small screen on the go.

Also added is the Creative Cloud Connection app, a desktop sync app that allows users to automatically sync files with a Creative Cloud account by simply saving files to a desktop folder, or by simply dragging and dropping. Additionally, the new Creative Cloud Training videos offer an extensive video library of tutorials and demo courses from renowned training partners, such as Kelby Training, video2brain and Attain, designed to help Creative Cloud subscribers succeed with the tools and services at their disposal. These partners, together with Adobe, provide the training videos to an international Creative Cloud audience in German, French, English, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish, with additional languages ​​to follow. Also starting today and via update, Adobe Illustrator is compatible with HiDPI (Retina) displays, with this new feature being available to both Creative Cloud subscribers and permanent license customers.
