New direct 3D pipeline between Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects
The first step in the recently announced strategic alliance results in a streamlined workflow and improved functionality for motion graphics and special effects artists.
Maxon has made public, on the eve of NAB, the first step in its strategic alliance with Adobe, with the aim of providing a new level of integration between its powerful 3D application Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects.
The scoop is that the next version of Adobe's leading software will include two Maxon technologies directly into the new Adobe After Effects.
The new direct 3D pipeline between Cinema 4D and After Effects, which eliminates intermediate rendering between the applications, is possible thanks to Cineware, which establishes a bridge between the two applications. One of the biggest benefits for artists will be a streamlined workflow, allowing them to not only import native Cinema 4D scenes directly as assets into After Effects, but also use Cinema 4D's multi-pass workflow as layers.
Users will benefit from decreased rendering time because Cineware makes the Cinema 4D Advanced Render Engine available directly in After Effects. With access to this functionality, instead of having to render each revision, users will now be able to work on Cinema 4D projects from within After Effects and see changes in real time.
“This pipeline cannot be found anywhere else to this extent, and will completely change the workflow of artists in the future,” said Harald Egel, co-founder and CEO of Maxon.
