Adobe introduces the Character Animator tool in After Effects CC
New Virtual Reality (VR) functions in Adobe Premiere Pro CC are other new possibilities included in the latest version of these two Creative Cloud tools.
Adobe has announced major updates to many of its flagship Creative Cloud tools and services with the clear goal of breaking down the obstacles that sometimes hinder the creative process. The launch includes spectacular new features in the main Adobe applications, comprehensive improvements to the performance of Creative Cloud (CC), and innovative updates to Adobe Stock, including deeper integration with CC and expanded assets through a Premium Collection with all-new high-quality content.
Spanning almost the entire Creative Cloud portfolio, the updates in this release are intended to solve many of the key challenges that designers, photographers and filmmakers face on a daily basis.
Adobe Stock
Integrated directly into Creative Cloud, Adobe Stock service offers the biggest and best selection
A study by Pfeiffer Consulting confirms that integrating Adobe Stock with CC desktop applications increases their effectiveness by up to 10 times, compared to other stock services. Adobe Stock includes more than 55 million high-quality, royalty-free photos, videos, illustrations, and vector graphics, as well as features like one-click workflows (allowing users to select an image or video from the Adobe Stock website and place it on their creative canvas with a single click), premium content (with nearly 100,000 curated images), and the ability to contribute directly from your desktop and mobile apps, including Adobe Lightroom CC, Adobe Bridge CC, Photoshop Fix and Photoshop Mix, making it easy access to publish and sell your work on Adobe Stock.
Character Animator
One of the biggest new features for creatives is the introduction of the Character Animator tool in After Effects CC. It allows the speech and movement of an animated character to be synchronized with that of a real actor.
It was first presented in The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in the presenter's usual section Interviews with Donald Trump cartoon and most recently used by the animation team of The Simpsons in the episode broadcast last May 15, 2016.
Virtual reality
Another novelty worth highlighting is the incorporation of new Virtual Reality (VR) functions in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, which includes the “field of view” mode in content previews.
Finally, CreativeSync technology ensures that the user's assets and settings for files, fonts and designs appear instantly in their workflows, whether from mobile or desktop applications, wherever they are needed. New collaboration features available include viewing Creative Cloud libraries in read-only mode, providing greater control over permission levels when collaborating in teams. Additionally, Creative Cloud libraries can serve as a virtual digital style guide for teams to ensure campaign consistency and compliance with brand requirements. Creatives can also delegate permission levels to help manage libraries and archives. Also new is the update to the Creative Cloud Libraries panel, which now includes search filters that allow customers to easily search and select video, photo, vector, and illustration assets.
