The complementarity between data visualization on video walls under study, augmented reality (highlighting virtual placement as a source of income to consider), advanced data management... makes ChyronHego come to Las Vegas stronger than ever.

ChyronHego NAB 2013

NAB 2013 has meant the public presentation of the new ChyronHego as a consequence in mid-March of Chyron's purchase of the Swedish Hego, specializing in powerful graphics and data visualization solutions for television and sports. Hego is a company based in Stockholm that over the years has gained great value in the market by specializing in the management of statistics and data in the sports field and its distribution within stadiums. In 1969 it launched the first hardware dedicated to sports, the Hego 5000, since then it has collaborated with numerous sporting events such as Formula or the Spanish league, which has used its technology for a couple of years.

The complementarity between data visualization on video walls under study, augmented reality (highlighting virtual placement as a source of income to consider), advanced data management... makes ChyronHego come to Las Vegas stronger than ever.

Among the new features presented at NAB 2013, Lyric and Paint stand out (an interesting tool painted on the terrain of action areas), now prepared for 4K flows, and the curious Optical Player Tracking system, which allows a player's label, for For example, it accompanies you in real time according to your movement.

Camio-DR

Among other new features, it is also worth highlighting Camio-DR, a new data recovery system designed for the Camio3 graphic asset management server. The system, which is available now, will allow broadcasters to protect their valuable graphics assets against potential hardware failures and achieve crystal-clear recovery.

Jim Martinolich, vice president of integration technology at ChyronHego, highlighted that “live programming requires a high level of system availability, including the ability to retrieve essential data quickly and easily. A hardware failure or data corruption can lead to a very serious problem in operations. Now Camio-DR arrives to accompany the acclaimed Camio product line as a backup equipment, thus representing a more economical solution to reliably protect data and workflow.”

Camio-DR can be at a remote location to cover a variety of disaster recovery scenarios. The system carries out scheduled updates to the core assets and databases of the main Camio and the synchronization process can be carried out during normal Camio operation.

Graffiti

ChyronHego is carrying out demonstrations of its new Graffiti broadcast graphics platform these days in Las Vegas. Product specialists are showcasing two high-performance models: Graffiti SDI, a fully functional 1-RU system that includes award-winning Lyric PRO graphics creation software, and Graffiti SDI Flex, a portable character generator that includes all features of Graffiti SDI. The device is ideal for covering live news, sports, entertainment and outdoor productions. Both models provide broadcasters with a professional and economical solution for incorporating high-end graphics into live broadcasts.

Graffiti can be easily integrated into existing workflows and will represent a key component of ChyronHego's BlueNetTM end-to-end solution that combines advanced graphics creation, collaboration, management and playout systems to ensure the shortest possible cycle time to the highest emission and production value.

With Graffiti SDI and Graffiti SDI Flex the user can select video standards ranging from SD to 1080i. Graffiti SDI will be available in single or dual channel configuration, with each channel providing key and video outputs. The Graffiti SDI Flex is supplied in a compact, lightweight rack that is ideal for mobile production needs and operation also requires a ThunderboltTM equipped laptop.

Mosaic

It is a good idea not to forget when visiting the Chyron stand, Mosaic, a high-performance 1080p broadcast graphics platform that can be used in traditional or automated production workflows. Mosaic is built on the latest Intel and Nvidia architecture and its powerful graphics engine is ideal for news, sports and live entertainment, as well as outdoor productions.

Mosaic can easily fit into existing workflows or ChyronHego's BlueNetTM end-to-end solution, either as a stand-alone character generator for live operations or as the primary graphics engine in automated environments once integrated with the ChyronHego's CAMIO graphical asset management.

Mosaic which comes in a compact 2-RU rack also includes storage and redundant power supplies making it the perfect solution when a robust design and space conservation are essential. This advanced platform delivers seamless playout creation capabilities with real-time 2D/3D animation and an optional onboard DVE, including video and audio mixers and supporting a variety of native clip formats and standards, including SD, HD and 1080p.

ChyronHego MRMC

robotic camera

ChyronHego has announced its partnership with Mark Roberts Motion Control (MRMC) to innovate a new smart robotic camera solution for its leading TRACAB monitoring technology. Combining real-time motion capture with real-time motion, ChyronHego object monitoring data is supplied to MRMC robotic camera heads, allowing the cameras to be used to create high-quality sports productions without need to have a camera operator.

The TRACAB monitoring system, currently deployed in many of the major leagues and competitions around the world, uses automatic broadcast cameras to focus on specific players or groups and can adjust the PTZ through a combination of monitoring data, metadata and predefined rules.

Separately, the German professional football league (Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) has selected ChyronHego to supply real-time digital sports data for live broadcasts of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2. ChyronHego's TRACAB system will be used to compile the Player and game statistics in an unprecedented level of detail over the four-year contract period that has been signed, reaching the end of the 2016/17 season.

Finally, it should be noted that ChyronHego has created a consortium with Opta Sport, a company with which it has already worked on similar projects internationally. Opta Sport will provide the specific statistics for each match, such as goals, assists and throw-ins. Hego will be in charge of compiling player and play data, such as position data, distance covered and speeds.
