Eyeheight color corrects London Marathon

Six CC-2M units housed in two chassis have been used to ensure uniform color between traditional cameras in fixed locations, plus a variety of mini cameras located throughout the route.

After their good work in the Oxford and Cambridge regattas, the color correctors of Eyeheight have returned to action for the London Marathon held last Sunday.

After a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Boston Marathon attacks, everyone took to the streets of the British capital in a marathon whose route was followed by 700,000 spectators.

Martin Moore, sales director at Eyeheight, highlights that "the London Marathon is one of the biggest broadcast events on the British sporting calendar. The diversity of shots and lighting would be a nightmare for television colorists without the right production tools. Six CC-2M units housed in two chassis have been used to ensure uniform color between traditional cameras in fixed locations, plus a wide variety of mini cameras located throughout the course. The CC-2ms were chosen for their proven quality, ease of use and compact design.”

Designed to handle 525/625, 720 and 1080 signals, CC-2M color correctors use automatic detection that allows independent real-time adjustment of red, green and blue component levels, master gain, lift, gamma and hue. An output preview shows the processed and raw image. Finally, it is worth noting that it is possible to house up to six CC-2M color correction cards in a 1-rack unit of FB-9E chassis, operated from an FP-9C control panel with self-legending illuminated pushbuttons.
