Canon EOS-1DC, award for best digital SLR camera for video at TIPA 2013

Canon wins five awards in the awards given annually by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).

Canon has been awarded five awards from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA), one of the most important photographic and image press associations in the world.

The TIPA Awards recognize the most important imaging products launched during the previous year and, again, in 2013, Canon has achieved industry recognition. The Japanese multinational has won awards in the categories of best digital SLR camera for beginners (EOS 100D), best digital SLR camera for experts (EOS 6D), best lens for professional digital SLR cameras (EF 24-70 mm f/2.8L II USM), best photo printer for experts (PIXMA PRO-10) and best digital SLR camera for video (EOS-1DC).

The editors of 28 of the most important photography and image magazines in the world, from 15 different countries and from all five continents, participate in the TIPA jury. The jury meets every year to discuss the products presented during the preceding year, taking into account a series of factors, ranging from innovation to overall product quality, before choosing and recognizing the best imaging products.

“Hybrid” digital SLR

The EOS-1DC, Canon's first "hybrid" digital SLR, has an 18-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor capable of recording in 4K resolution (4,096 x 2,160) or HD video, as well as 18-megapixel photos in JPEG and/or RAW format. Designed especially for film and television productions, as well as special work, 4K recording can be performed at recording speeds of 24p or 25p and HD up to 60p.

Recording is done on CF cards and all EF mount lenses can be used. The EOS-1D C also has all the features of a professional digital SLR camera, making it an extremely versatile camera for all today's professional users.
