The inventor of the Steadicam, Garrett Brown, has been nominated for the "National Inventors Hall of Fame" in the United States.

Developed in 1975, Steadicam camera stabilization technology, initially adopted in film productions at the highest level, was a before and after in the moving shots.

The system consists of a suspension and straight arm system with support for the camera and counterweight system, which can be complemented with an isoelastic arm attached to a vest or body as it is known to increase the time of use in long shots, since the weight moves from the operator's arms to the hips of the same. The system allows the movie or television camera tied to the camera operator body through a harness.

SteadicamHis first cinematographic use was on the 1976 andSta Earth is my land (Bound for Glory), by Hal Ashby; Its use was a revolution that surprised the specialists of the subject. In the same year it was used in Rocky and in Marathon Man, which initiated their generalized use.

In 1980, Kubrick used Steadicam in The glow thus replacing the spectacular and expensive Traveling. The Steadicam thus broke into the market for its good results and more complex movements at a lower cost.

Added to the Tiffen solution line in 2000, the development of this product has meant its adoption by a wide range of camera selections from the largest 3D Rigs, to Iphones or Gopro mini-channels.
