The new LTE networks will favor the takeoff of mobile video and will promote the generalization of new formulas for contributing to the study based solely on cellular networks.

4G LTE

Although operators were reluctant to commercially launch 4G connectivity services based on LTE networks, mainly due to the strong investment carried out in recent years in 3G-3.5G and its need for amortization, now it finally seems that the fourth generation is entering the commercial phase.

Vodafone will be the first operator to launch the 4G service starting today in Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Seville and Valencia. Yoigo will begin offering services on July 18 in Madrid, progressively expanding it to other capitals. Orange will launch its 4G service on July 8 in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Malaga and Murcia.

Telefónica-Movistar has not yet made a move regarding the commercial use it will make of these superfast networks.

Long Term Evolution

LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology enables fast data transfer rates with speeds up to ten times faster than 3G.

This increase in speed applies to both downloading and uploading data. Precisely, this is one of the key aspects of using 4G networks to contribute news from anywhere.

Uplink systems over cellular networks such as the popular LiveU will now be able to get the most out of LTE, being able to contribute live or delayed images, even in high definition.

On the other hand, according to some studies, 4G can increase the productivity of companies by 67%, reducing the time invested in doing business by 44%.

In the Spanish case, operators will offer 4G in different models, both without extra cost and with additional fees.
