The Time Warner company arrives in Spain with a catalog of more than 3,000 hours and the intention of launching local productions.

HBO Spain

Starting this week, Spanish users have a new online content distribution platform. Although its premiere has been a long time coming, this Monday Home Box Office (HBO) Spain started with a wide catalog of series, films, documentaries and children's productions.

HBO Spain will offer a free month to all its new subscribers and subsequently will have a monthly cost of 7.99 euros. Users will be able to enjoy dubbed and subtitled content, register 5 different devices associated with their subscription and watch two simultaneous streams from the same account.

With the launch in Spain, it adds a new territory to the 60 countries in which the platform operates (its content can be seen in more than 150 nations around the planet).

The platform will be accessible from desktop computers (PC and Mac), tablets and other mobile devices (iOs and Android), in addition to Apple TV and Google Chromecast. In addition, it will allow access to two simultaneous streams from different devices and through the same subscriber account.

Although at the moment the Time Warner subsidiary has not given many details about its business plan in Spain, it has announced that it intends to develop its own local production. Precisely, in-house production has been one of HBO's hallmarks since Sex and the City premiered in 1998, a series that was followed by other hits such as The Sopranos, The Wire or the famous Game of Thrones, on screen since 2011.

Although HBO had been offering its content through platforms such as Movistar+, HBO Spain will be characterized by offering all the seasons and episodes of all its series. In fact. Their goal is to release their productions in Spain simultaneously with the United States.
Regarding its catalogue, HBO Spain starts with more than 3,000 hours of content that highlights both independent cinema and films produced by the major Hollywood studios with which it has agreements.

Finally, note that, thanks to a contract with Vodafone TV, the operator will offer HBO in its convergent offer for the same price and independently through a menu at 7.99 euros per month.
