Given the peculiarities of the recording space, the producer and engineer chose to use the Pyramix and Horus audio network converters from Mergin Technologies.
Deutsche Grammophon recently recorded the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in a concert conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.
Given the peculiarities of the recording space, the producer Friedemann Engelbrecht of Teldex Studio (Berlin) and Enno Mäemets dw Editroom Oy (Helsinki) as engineer, chose to use the Pyramix and Horus audio network converters from Mergin Technologies.
Enno Mäemets explains his choice of equipment by stating that "today we have to record, edit and mix and master these projects very quickly and Pyramix is the only viable option for this. Furthermore, Mergin is the only company that offers a variety of high-end recording formats so that we can respond to DSD or DXD deliveries as well as 192 or 96 kHz PCM. The great advantage of Horus is that, as in most symphony halls, we have to suspend We can have one Horus on the ceiling handling 16 mics and a second Horus on stage with 24 additional microphones and 8 return lines. The Ravenna connection means that these are mounted and controlled by a single Cat 6 cable so that we can set the levels, filters and installation of the control room and that the microphone cables are as short as possible.
