Eutelsat Kabelkiosk chooses Tvinci for its OTT services
Eutelsat is using Tvinci's OTT 2.0 platform to provide a sophisticated over-the-top television service to around 3.5 million homes in Germany.
Eutelsat Kabelkiosk, a television service offering operated by Eutelsat Germany for Central Europe, is using the OTT 2.0 platform of Tvinci to provide a sophisticated over-the-top television service to around 3.5 million homes in Germany through around 300 affiliated companies.
Eutelsat Kabelkiosk will have, thanks to this technology, five content available on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, HbbTV set-top boxes and PC/Mac. Each network associated with the Kabelkiosk operator will have the option to customize services to the degree they wish.
Martina Rutenbeck, CEO of Eutelsat visAvision, one of the affiliated Kabelkiosk operators, stated that “Tvinci's OTT 2.0 platform allows us to implement a fully managed solution with an exceptional user experience, allowing us to easily manage its content, business rules and device applications.”
Tvinci's OTT 2.0 platform allows you to provide end-user services such as EPG, restartTV, linear VOD and catch-up TV to your end users.
Ofer Shayo, CEO of Tvinci, said: "This sophisticated expansion of Eutelsat's Kabelkiosk offering helps its customers achieve future-proof business in television. Our platform is built to adapt to this type of model in which each account can be managed independently. Thanks to Eutelsat Germany, Tvinci becomes the platform used by millions of households in Germany to watch television in a personalized way, completely free of device limitations."
Other partners involved in the rollout include Harmonic (ingest), Broadpeak (CDN), PlayReady (DRM), Marlin (DRM) and Rovi (VOD), with an EPG supplied by PPS. The service is expected to reach users later this year.
