NEP Visions captures the sound of Wimbledon with Calrec consoles
The Artemis consoles, connected via MADI, are allowing for crystal-clear sound both in the production of highlights and in broadcasting with 5.1 audio.
NEP Visions, which has moved its Atlantic mobile unit to Wimbledon for 3D and HD coverage, is using the digital audio consoles Calrec to capture the audio of the oldest tennis tournament in the world.
With the 56f Apollo and 56f Artemis Beam, along with the 40f and 24f Artemis Beam desks on a 64f console, NEP is collecting all match audio.

Paul Fournier, head of audio at NEP Visions, said: "This year we have two full flypack configurations, in addition to the Atlantic unit. One of these has been rented specifically for Wimbledon, but the modular nature of the system means that installation was quick and straightforward. Port labeling was done well in advance of testing with Calrec's project engineers, and the network was tested in Calrec's own factory before shipping. This significantly reduced setup times in Wimbledon, making sure everything went very well. We saved days in the installation.”
NEP Visions modular flypack systems can be configured as a complete OB production unit, in an International Broadcast Center, or in a main control room, thus installing them in places that cannot be accessed by a truck.
