Digitalization is key to the development of pay-TV in Central America

Según el directivo de Media Networks, Óscar Castillo, la digitalización es un paso indispensable para seguir siendo competitivos y poder enfrentar con éxito los desafíos que el mercado nos plantea hoy en día.

"Making the leap to the digital world brings benefits for both operators and end users. Digitalization not only allows for an increase in the number of channels, but also significantly improves the experience of end users through a series of additional functionalities and services. On the other hand, it allows operators to segment their offer and offer value-added services such as premium and HD channel packages," Castillo explained.

Castillo was the main exhibitor at the ExpoCable 2013 fair, organized annually by Cotegua, the Cooperative of Cable TV Operators of Guatemala, and which ended today in the Central American capital.

At ExpoCable 2013, Media Networks presented its Go Digital service, a comprehensive solution for the digitization of pay TV networks that uses the same satellite management platform used by Media Networks' wholesale DTH service – which in Guatemala provides the satellite pay TV operator Qualy TV.

“Go Digital is a simple, efficient and accessible solution for small and medium-sized operators, for whom it has been designed and which has aroused interest among many operators participating in this ExpoCable,” said Castillo.

Media Networks is a B2B unit of Telefónica Digital that also provides wholesale pay TV and satellite internet services to companies and operators in Spain, the United States
