Creativity and Innovation in Television Award 2013

For 24 hours between February 22 and 23, Telemedellín launched an interesting initiative in which viewers made television by sending their videos.

Thanks to the results achieved on this day, Telemedellín has obtained the 2013 Creativity and Innovation in Television Award, presented by the International Open TV Center that rewards "professionals capable of conceiving and implementing initiatives that contribute to the development of brands and delight audiences." A project supported by channels from across the continent, including Televisa (Mexico), Band (Brazil), Mega (Chile), Caracol and RCN (Colombia) and América TV and Frecuencia Latina (Peru).

Telemedellín was awarded in the Multiplatform category, which recognized the most interesting initiatives that use and integrate the platforms of the Open TV channels (Mobile, Channel Website, Social TV...), seeking to expand the audience's experience in their open television content (programs).

The award was presented during the Open TV Summit on August 20 in New York (USA), and other companies were also recognized there in categories such as Branded Content, Integration, New Technologies, Promotion and Traditional Spot. The objective of these awards is to exalt cases creatively conceived in Latin America and exhibited on open TV channels in the region.

The jury was made up of a group of professionals of international importance and credibility such as David Poltrack (Chief Research Officer, CBS, United States), Roberto Franco President (Forum TV Digital, Brazil), Eduardo Olano, general director of Atres Advertising, Spain), Antonio José Gómez (commercial vice president of RCN, Colombia), Marcello Cuneo (president of Grupo ATV, Peru); Carlos Coello, general manager of TC Televisión, Ecuador) and Ernesto Monasterio (commercial manager of Unitel, Bolivia)

Waldir Ochoa, manager of Telemedellín, recalled that in M24 "we show a city that lives, suffers, smiles, endures and sometimes goes crazy, that dreams and does not rest. Its pulse was measured, its biorhythm, we have witnessed a milestone of Colombian and world TV, but above all we witnessed an exercise in citizen participation and culture."
During this experience, citizens sent 1,00 videos and 7,722 Twitter mentions. In addition, Telemedellín managed to increase the number of its followers on Twitter by 1,134.
