Vitec acquires Teradek

This company's solutions allow you to stream high-definition video wirelessly.

The group Vitec incorporates these solutions into its portfolio Teradek, a company that provides devices and platforms for wireless high-definition video streaming, which are used in the contribution and distribution of images in productions, Internet broadcasting, news editorials and even cinema.

Vitec has acquired the company Teradek, adding to its extensive catalog of teleprompters, tripods, batteries... this company's solutions that allow for wireless high-definition video streaming. Teradek even offers a solution for situations where it is necessary to send images directly from the camera to a remote reception point over 4G networks.

Teradek manufactures all its products in the USA and has an international presence.

Matt Danilowicz, CEO of Vitec, said: "Teradek is a very important acquisition for Vitec Videocom. Whether a film director needs to monitor images on set, a journalist needs to broadcast breaking news, or you want to transmit images from a live event, these products guarantee affordable wireless transmission."

Teradek employs about 60 people at its headquarters in Irvine, California. The company was founded in 2008 by Nicol Verheem, a former GE engineer. Nicol, who will join the Vitec team, acknowledges that "this is a great step for Teradek and I believe it will expand our reach, drive our growth and improve our focus on product innovation. We are certainly already enjoying the resources and reach of Vitec and we are already working with the opportunity to work together with some of their other brands."
