Vitec MGW Ace by Vitec: ultra-low latency and low bit rate encoding
The applications of this professional encoder are multiple: from live news transmission, through point-to-point contribution in HD or the transmission of sporting events, to the distribution of military images with minimal bandwidth and variable frame rate.
He MGW Ace of Vitec it's a professional encoder by hardware HEVC (H.265) totally portable. Incorporates the Vitec HEVC GEN2+ encoding chip, an all-hardware compression chip, that enables the MGW Ace encoder to deliver the industry's best video quality for HD/SD video streams with up to 50% bandwidth savings compared to H.264.
Their applications They are multiple from the transmission live news, passing through the contribution point-to-point in HD or the transmission of sporting events, to the distribution of military images with minimal bandwidth and variable frame rate. MGW Ace makes it more efficient than ever to deliver the highest quality IPTV streams over satellite links, private networks/Internet, as incorporates the technology of Zixi, as standard, protecting the transmission of video, audio and metadata on networks with up to 30% packet loss.
MGW Ace Encoder sets new industry standards in video quality, bit rate and latency. This encoder provides the best HEVC video quality up to 4:2:2/10 bit and a Encoding latency up to 4 ms in Ultra Low Latency mode for an impressive 16ms end-to-end latency (when combined with MGW Ace Decoder – ULL Mode). Featuring time-synchronized playback, the MGW Ace encoder and MGW Ace decoder ensure seamless synchronization of multiple independent IP streams for remote production or any live application where IP streams must be played synchronously.
Integrated into any environment, the MGW Ace encoder offers a great selection of tickets including 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, DVI, HDMI and composite video, as well as analog and digital audio. It also incorporates an integrated hardware scaler for real-time downsampling, cropping and frame-by-frame sampling, delivering optimized video output for any application. An internal video matrix allows routing of video sources to HEVC and H.264 compression cores for simultaneous H.265 and H.264 streaming.
The portable HEVC encoder features low power consumption compared to software-based HEVC encoders running on large servers with multiple CPUs. MGW Ace allows you to take HEVC encoding from server rooms to field production for live broadcast applications with easy integration into transport boxes, mobile TV units, portable boxes, vehicles and even on airplanes. Whether covering an event or for sensitive applications, MGW Ace Encoder is designed to always provide the best possible viewing experience.
MGW Ace Decoder
As for the MGW Ace decoder, it comes in two formats: portable device and chassis version Opengear, and up to 10 decoders can be housed in a 2U chassis with optional redundant power supply. Supports HEVC/H265 and H264 compression standards in 4:2:2/10bits over IP or DVB-ASI, incorporating genlock input.
That's it ready for 4K broadcasts with its 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 outputs, in future firmware versions, which can be activated simultaneously. With its flexible and unique FPGA architecture, MGW Ace Decoder is a future-proof solution and ensures to stay at the forefront of the market. Vitec will offer software options to support up to 4K60p 4:2:2 in HEVC 10-bit (Main422 10P@L5.1) and more.
MGW Ace Decoder provides embedded audio in SDI/HDMI as well as balanced analog or unbalanced stereo audio and AES digital audio.
Signals are received through two Ethernet ports to cover any network topology. Each port is configurable for management and/or streaming or from the DVB-ASI input. Standard includes SMPTE 2022 Pro-MPEG, SRT and Zixi for networks with up to 30% packet loss.
