Blackmagic announces Atem 4.1 software update
The new version allows you to save and restore all or part of the mixing configurations on any Atem production mixer.
Coinciding with IBC 2013, Blackmagic has announced the Atem 4.1 software update. The new progressive frame rates allow you to work in 1080p video formats 23, 98, 24, 25, 29, 97, 50, 59, 94. The 4K production studio now connects to an even greater range of HD devices, both HDMI and SDI, matrices and media playout servers.
This new update also allows you to save and restore mixing states on any Atem brand production mixer.
With powerful macro control, the save and restore functions can be used in three ways: save and restore the entire mixer state, only a portion, or load only a portion of an entire saved state. Thus, it is possible, for example, to call a complex chromakey configuration without affecting the rest of the switcher state during a live production.
Now, users can simply save the plug-in to a laptop, hard drive or USB to load saved states into the next session using any Atem brand production mixer, anywhere.
Each new status saved in a folder as a new file with time and data. Thus, the user can save several states of an emission without worrying about accidentally saving over another state. With all versions saved in one folder it's easier to go forward or back in time by restoring favorite settings instantly.
Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design, highlighted that "with the powerful macro control of Atem mixers, our customers can save all mixer states or just a part of a mixer state for keyers, audio mixing and even SuperSource on the Atem 2 M/E for XML files. Customers can also save as many configuration files as they want and rename them as they wish."
