Ono offers new functionalities to its users with TiVo

The new features focus on strengthening the search systems, improvements to the User Interface, greater ease in sharing content between different 'TiVos' in the home and implementation of energy saving systems.

Ono has begun rolling out the new update to its TiVo smart TV service. The implementation of the new functionalities will be carried out, as on previous occasions, gradually by area until the end of October. TiVo users will not need to make any actions or changes to their box, since the update is done remotely, automatically and at no cost to the customer.

The new version of the service includes important new features aimed at improving the user experience and enhancing the usability of each decoder, one of the most evolved on the market.

At this time, more than 200,000 homes in Spain already enjoy TiVo through the Ono fiber network.

The news focuses mainly on the following aspects:

• User Interface improvements: presence of the tuned TV channel on the menu screens, so as not to interrupt the television experience while viewing the programming; incorporation of more personalized recommendations and optimization of the usability of the screens related to recordings, so that the client can even more easily find the program they want to watch, or intuitively manage their scheduled recordings at a glance.
• new search by topic: a new way to discover the programs that the customer wants to watch. It groups the best content of all types (channels, video stores, Internet) into visual collections so that the customer can comfortably navigate between images without having to enter any text.
• Improved alphabetical search: faster and more convenient text entry using the numerical keys on the remote control (SMS type). In addition, the results include all the content available on TiVo (linear channel programs, video stores and Internet applications) and filters are enabled that will allow the user to restrict the results to what they are looking for.
• share recordings between 'TiVos' in the same home: Those who have more than one TiVo decoder in their home will now be able to see the recordings stored in the others from any of them.
• new energy saving mode: allows the user to define in a very simple way if they want certain functions to turn off after a period of inactivity, reducing energy consumption to a minimum for greater respect for the environment and savings on the electricity bill.
