The National Telecommunications Commission of the Philippines confirms its commitment to the Japanese standard.

Tv in the PhilippinesThe Philippines has opted for the Japanese ISDB standard for the transmission of digital television services.

The decision was confirmed by the National Telecommunications Commission, after studying for many months the possibility of opting for DVB-T2.

After Japan, the system was adopted in 2006 by Brazil. Subsequently, other Latin American countries such as Peru, Argentina (after renouncing the initially approved ATSC), Chile, Venezuela, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Bolivia, Guatemala, Uruguay, Nicaragua, have opted for the Japanese-Brazilian standard. In Africa, the ISDB-Tb system was adopted on February 26 of this year, being the first African country to adopt said standard.
