The commercial visit to Ireland, which takes place between November 13 and 15, consolidates the international commitment of the Euskadi Audiovisual Cluster after those made to Holland and Israel.

oak_logo-270x80A Basque audiovisual delegation led by the Eiken cluster will seek, starting next Wednesday, new business and collaboration opportunities in the emerging Irish market. The mission, which will last until November 15, is part of the internationalization strategy of the Basque audiovisual cluster and joins the visits made a few months ago, with very satisfactory results, to Holland and Israel.

The delegation is made up of professionals from different companies in the Basque audiovisual sector, from production companies to training centers, and has the support of the Bizkaia Talent company of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, which plans to hold a talent recruitment day in the Irish capital next Saturday in which Eiken will also participate.

The main objective of the Basque mission to Dublin, in addition to consolidating the strategic commitment of the Eiken Internationalization Plan, is to generate points of interest and communication with a market similar in many aspects to the Basque one, but more evolved in very specific aspects.

In this sense, the visit begins with the intention of obtaining a faithful portrait of the situation of the Irish sector, as well as getting to know better three important subsectors in the development of the industry in that country: TV formats, animation (and its convergence with video games) and transmedia.

Likewise, among the scheduled events, the visit to the Google headquarters in Dublin stands out, together with companies belonging to the GAIA cluster, as well as the planned meeting with the Irish Public Radio and Television (RTE) to promote collaboration in the environment of formats and, specifically, in future editions of Innova Basque Audiovisual. It is also planned to hold a meeting with Eiken's counterpart body in Ireland, Screen Producers Ireland, with the aim of exploring matchmaking and benchmarking actions in both countries, respectively.

For its part, Eiken will present in Dublin the most outstanding works of Basque audiovisual in these sectors, such as the Innova Basque Audiovisual initiative, in the field of formats; the most recent animation projects; and the activity of transmedia and crossmedia companies.

In addition to Eiken and Bizkaia Talent, the Basque delegation will be made up of representatives of the following companies: Escuela Centa, Fidenet, Interactivemartin Games, Jarkatza Media, J.O.K. Films, Peccata minuta and Úbiqa.
