Dalet offers new business opportunities and growth to the media industry

The industry has begun to use emerging technologies to open new business and growth opportunities. In this line, The valley has attended IBC 2017 with interesting proposals. Arnaud Elnecave, Vice President of Marketing at Dalet, emphasizes that "today's media operations require fluid and collaborative workflows based on an open technology framework such as the Dalet Galaxy platform, which can adapt to the flow of new business requirements. All of our recent implementations try to enable this agile transformation for our clients."

At IBC 2017 it has become clear that the interaction of social media with the television and radio audience is one of these key points to increase and retain audiences. For this reason, Dalet is emphasizing at this fair on social publishing in an efficient way for both broadcasters and journalists who work in these media and attract an important social mass.
Dalet News Solutions' new module, the Dalet Social Media Dashboard, will enable journalists to analyse, produce and deliver fast-paced news on social media platforms, giving editorial teams a synthetic view of information and simple analytics.
Through the Dalet Social Media Panel interface, which imitates the style of social media platforms, journalists will be able to review and approve the material to be published on networks as well as schedule the date and time of their online shooting. On the other hand, analysis tools help both journalists and news directors create stories, contributing to more informed decision-making to generate various angles.
Elnecave highlights that "the new Social Media Panel user interface allows you to quickly and easily send content to social channels and accounts. Our system is capable of, once content is published on a social channel, collect information on how followers interact with this content, generating very valuable information for the journalist."
Artificial intelligence
Another of Dalet's strengths at Galaxy is demonstrating the impact that artificial intelligence is having on its Galaxy platform. “Increasing the amount of metadata will allow us to distribute content automatically,” says Elnecave. "Artificial intelligence is going to provide a very granular and detailed description of the content. Big data will be applied more and more every day to the knowledge of the audience and the content itself," he adds.
Unified news operations
An agile and scalable solution, Dalet Unified News Operations combines all the essential functions of a modern newsroom, offering a complete set of collaboration tools that streamline the entire chain of operations. Dalet now introduces editorial experience tools, recommending to journalists and producers a selection of content readily available on the platform that matches their assignments or work in progress.
On the other hand, Dalet Cube, the complete set of high-quality broadcast graphics tools, features a new set of native integrations with the Dalet Galaxy platform to create and manage CGs, crawlers, tickers, banners, logos, full graphics and complex 3D animations.
Orchestration
In terms of workflow orchestration, the new Dalet Orchestration is an agile enterprise media management solution designed to integrate content groupings and automate workflows across the different verticals of a typical media company, such as programs, promos, news, sports...
Dalet Orchestration provides a consolidated view of all media assets across the enterprise with tools to easily automate and optimize workflows from acquisition and production to content distribution to multiple broadcast platforms and publishing systems. Delivered with Dalet Report Center, the solution delivers critical business intelligence data specifically designed for media operations, allowing management teams to measure performance across the chain and create data-driven strategies.
Adobe Premiere Pro CC
In terms of post-production, the recently updated HTML5 Dalet
Editors can then save projects or sequences as assets in Dalet Galaxy and share them with other Adobe Premiere Pro editors connected to Dalet. New features and capabilities include support for exporting multiple sequences, localization inheritance, configurable metadata forms for exporting content, and support for “while” scenarios when exporting from Adobe Premiere Pro.
Virtualization
The Dalet Brio high-density I/O platform supports the latest IP standards adopted across the industry, SMPTE 2202-2, SMPTE 2202-6 and the upcoming SMPTE 2110. The latest version of Dalet Brio is no longer dependent on a physical video card, enabling complete virtualization of inputs and outputs opening the doors to more agile, next-generation video network configurations.
Dalet Galaxy en Euronews
Broadcasting in thirteen languages and four locations (Lyon, Brussels, Athens and Budapest), the pan-European channel is using Dalet to meet the group's development needs. The installation supports two hundred simultaneous users who have the potential of Dalet's three technological platforms: Dalet Galaxy (logistics and media asset management), Dalet Amberfin (media orchestration and processing) and Dalet Brio (input/output environment).
Arnaud Elnecave, vice president of marketing at Dalet, commented that thanks to Dalet technology “with the same number of journalists, Euronews is capable of distributing ten times more content in several languages and personalizing each piece according to the contextualization of each information with respect to different territories.”
The unified platform provides centralized access to content, which is critical in a multi-language environment. Equally important, the flow of content will be transparent and multi-site from acquisition to distribution and archiving, which is why Euronews has gained efficiency.”
Dalet's unified production proposal will provide Euronews with tools for standardizing ingestion, editing, graphics, planning and distribution across all Euronews products.
