'Los Desayunos' celebrates twenty years on TVE
The program began broadcasting on January 10, 1994 as 'Los Desayunos de Radio 1'.
The Breakfasts, the morning news analysis and interview program on La 1 celebrates this Friday, January 10, twenty years of broadcast on Spanish Television. For this reason, the program presented by María Casado and directed by Nacho García Mostazo has offered a special edition that will have as guests the three protagonists of the first Desayunos: Julio César Iglesias, Antonio San José and Diego Carcedo.
En la edición especial de este viernes también ha participado como invitado el presidente de la Academia de la Televisión, Manuel Campo Vidal. Por su parte, con motivo del aniversario, la web RTVE.es resume en imágenes los mejores momentos del programa y las recoge en una información donde se hace un repaso de su trayectoria.
Veinte años de historia y cientos de personajes han acompañado a la audiencia más madrugadora de Televisión Española desde 1994. El programa comenzó siendo la versión televisiva de la emisión nacida en Radio Nacional de España. Se estrenó en La 1 el 10 de enero de ese año como Los Desayunos de Radio 1, with Julio César Iglesias leading the program along with Diego Carcedo and Antonio San José, and with Javier Gómez Navarro, Minister of Commerce and Tourism as the first guest. In 1996, the space was renamed RNE Breakfasts and with the start of the following season, on September 15, 1997, it definitively became TVE Breakfasts.
Throughout this time, the program has had seven directors (Julio César Iglesias, Javier González Ferrari, Luis Mariñas, Pepa Bueno, Ana Pastor, Juan Manuel Romero and Nacho G. Mostazo) and six presenters (Julio César Iglesias, Javier González Ferrari, Luis Mariñas, Pepa Bueno, Ana Pastor and María Casado).
Hundreds of guests have also come through the program. The four presidents of Government that Spain has had since the space began its editions have been interviewed in the program: Felipe González, José María Aznar, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and Mariano Rajoy. In addition to ministers, regional presidents and other relevant political figures, important international political leaders as well as writers, artists, and prominent figures from sports and culture have also paraded through the space.
