Sydney Freeland's movie, Drunktown’s Finest has surprised the audience at the Sundance festival with the expressiveness of its image and the harshness of its story.
Shot in English and Navajo, the film brings to the screen the story of three young Native Americans. A rebellious father-to-be, a devout Christian, and a promiscuous transsexual come of age on an Indian reservation. Jeremiah Bitsui, Carmen Moore, Morningstar Angeline, Kiowa Gordon, Shauna Baker and Elizabeth Francis star in this film written by Sydney Freeland.
The film was filmed on an ARRI Alexa, with ARRI/Fujinon Alura Zooms in New Mexico. Peter Holland was in charge of photography.
