Harmonic will focus its presence at NAB on the innovation and flexibility of its solutions for multi-device distribution

In Las Vegas it will demonstrate an innovative technology that promises to redefine the ecosystem of broadcast video delivery.

Harmonic at IBC 2013

Harmonic will show at NAB 2014 a series of solutions aimed at optimizing the production and delivery of video services in broadcast, pay TV and new media environments.

Leveraging its extensive experience in encoding, transcoding, playout servers, IPTV head-ends, and multi-screen transcoding solutions, Harmonic promises to unveil new innovative solutions that will allow greater efficiency in the preparation and delivery of high-quality video content to any display device.

The company will also have a 4K Ultra High Definition 2160p60 demo. We will also see its Electra multi-format encoding platform that offers high audio encoding capabilities, as well as a powerful primary distribution solution based on the Harmonic DMS video distribution management system and a new ProView IRD (integrated receiver-decoder).

Harmonic will also showcase its multi-screen ad insertion solution, which leverages the ProMedia and Prostream family with ACE for multi-screen transcoding and integrates with advertising ecosystem partners to assist in the monetization of multi-screen services. By facilitating commercial insertion, along with program replacement, this solution provides operators with a simple and cost-effective way to generate a return on their multi-screen investment.

In Las Vegas it will also showcase the latest enhancements to its Spectrum media server, including integrated ChannelPort channel playout system, which will increase ingest, storage and streaming workflows. ChannelPort includes high-density playback of four SD/HD channels per RU, dual DVE capabilities, and compatibility with the industry's leading automation systems. In a demonstration of its high-performance storage solutions, Harmonic will also introduce 4K and collaborative editing with a MediaGrid shared storage system.
